We’re deeply concerned about the ongoing crisis unfolding in Nepal. What began as a digital freedom protest has escalated into a nationwide movement led by Gen Z activists.
🔒 The government’s decision to ban 26 major social media platforms—including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and YouTube—sparked widespread outrage.
🔥 In response, massive protests erupted across Kathmandu and other cities. Demonstrators stormed Parliament, set fire to government buildings, and demanded accountability from political leaders.
⚠️ The situation has intensified:
- Prime Minister and President have resigned
- The Nepali Army has taken control of security operations
- At least 19 lives lost, with hundreds injured
- Kathmandu airport temporarily shut down
- India has issued a travel advisory urging citizens to avoid travel and stay indoors

🗣️ Protesters are calling for:
- Restoration of digital freedom
- An end to corruption
- Civilian-led governance
- Transparency and reform
We stand in solidarity with those advocating for freedom, safety, and justice. If you have friends, family, or business ties in Nepal, please stay informed and prioritize safety.
