Idli, How to make them soft and white?

Idli is most cooked breakfast in South india. It is easily digestible which is made up of black lentil and rice.These fluffy steamed idlis are favorite dish for most of the people. Follow these simple tips to make them more fluffy and soft.

Ingredients :
Black lentil : 1 cup
Rice/ Idli ravva : 2 cups
Sago : 1 fist full
Fenugreek seed : 1 tea spoon

Procedure :
Soak all the above ingredients and gring them in a mixer grinder.Let this be fermented for atleast 6-8 hours to taste best.The batter will be pluffed , which is the indicator for the tasty idlis.After fermentation, add little salt according to taste and cook them in a idly cooker. Turn of the cooker after 20 minutes

By following this recipie, you will get fluffy and whitish idlis. This will taste best if served with coconut/ peanut chutney or with sambar.

P.S : Generally Sago and fenugreek seeds are not added by many people. But trust me, try idlis by adding these ingredients also and see the difference.
